Improving everyday access with a safer, more practical entry ramp
This project involved upgrading the front entry of a residential property to provide safer and more practical access from the driveway through to the home.
The existing entry relied on a stepped concrete porch, which limited accessibility and made everyday movement in and out of the home more difficult. Raptor Building Solutions completed a new access ramp and landing system to create a smoother, more usable pathway to the front door.
Project scope
- Construction of a new access ramp from the driveway to the entry area
- Installation of Modwood decking for a clean, low-maintenance finish
- New landing and deck area to improve circulation at the front entry
- Powder-coated handrails and balustrade for safer movement along the ramp
- Integration with the existing home, driveway and entry porch
- Improved transition between outdoor areas and the main entry point
A functional result that still suits the home
The finished ramp provides a safer and more accessible approach to the home while maintaining a neat, modern appearance. The dark handrail system ties in with the existing exterior colours, while the Modwood decking creates a durable and practical surface for everyday use.
Rather than feeling like an add-on, the completed access ramp now works as part of the home’s entry. It improves usability, supports safer movement, and provides a more comfortable path from the driveway to the front door.
Supporting safer access at home
Projects like this are an important part of making homes safer, easier to use and better suited to the needs of the people living in them. For NDIS participants, families and support teams, a well-planned home modification can make a meaningful difference to daily routines, independence and confidence around the home.
